Destination preference revealed for defensive Liverpool target

Ryan Sessegnon

Liverpool could be set to lose out on reported left-back target Ryan Sessegnon this summer, with Tottenham his preferred destination, according to HITC.

Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a new full-back, with Alberto Moreno departing the club at the end of the month.

The Reds have been linked to Sessegnon on and off for the last few seasons, with the 19-year-old looking an increasingly attractive prospect for Premier League sides.

However, it now appears as though the defender will choose Spurs over Champions League winners Liverpool as he would rather remain in London.

Fulham are eager to make good money off Sessegnon and as such have placed a £35million price tag on his head.

The England Under-21 international can operate at left-back or on the wing, and would provide quality depth for any side who eventually acquire him.

Tottenham will only move for Sessegnon if they lose Danny Rose this summer, whereas Liverpool have a more pressing need to bolster that position with Andy Robertson set to be the only senior out and out left-back at the club.
