Liverpool linked with renewed approach for Nabil Fekir

Liverpool have been linked with a renewed approach for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, according to various reports in France, cited by TeamTalk.

The 25-year-old was set for a move to Anfield last summer when knee injury concerns raised during his medical caused the deal to collapse at the last moment.

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas recently confirmed that the attacking midfielder will be allowed to leave the club this summer after scoring 12 goals and bagging nine assists for the Ligue 1 side this season.

According to Le Progres (via Foot01), a Lyon-based news outlet, Jurgen Klopp’s side “have returned to the charge, but would not be willing to invest as much as last summer”.

Lyon wanted ÂŁ60million for Fekir last summer, but with another year on his contract run down, that price is likely to drop considerably.

Le Progres suggest that the friendly between Liverpool and Lyon next month hints that a deal is on the cards again, with the two sides set to discuss a move for the player.

It remains to be seen whether or not there’s any truth to this one.
