Liverpool’s squad value ranked second-highest in Europe at £1billion

Liverpool’s overall squad value has risen dramatically after Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Champions League and pushed Manchester City all the way to the Premier League title, according to Transfermarkt.com, via the Express.

A combination of intelligent transfer business and player development has seen the Reds rise in value over the last 12 months to second place in the list of most valuable teams in the world, just behind Manchester City.

According to Transfermarkt, the Merseyside club’s squad is now worth an estimated £1billion, with City valued at £1.05billion.

Fellow Champions League finalists Tottenham have also gained significant squad value in the last year, moving ahead of Real Madrid and Manchester United in the list.

Despite heavy investment, United’s squad is worth just £706.28million, placing them ninth in the rankings.

Everton have also increased in value to just scrape into the top 20 at £397.58million.
