Naby Keita provides fitness update ahead of African Cup of Nations
Naby Keita has revealed that he’s not completely fit ahead of the African Cup of Nations, according to Goal.
The midfielder suffered a groin injury against Barcelona on May 1 and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The No.8 appeared to make a speedy recovery in time for the African Cup of Nations tournament, but admitted yesterday that he’s “not 100% fit” upon arrival in Marrakesh.

“I am very happy to meet my teammates,” Keita said, according to Guineefoot.info.
“I am hoping to start work now even though I am not 100% fit, but when I was in Liverpool – I had already started training with the ball.
“Upon my arrival here, I am going to train with the team to see what’s next. I like to assure the fans, my teammates and the coach that I should be ready for Guinea’s first match.
“I am 100% motivated,” the Liverpool midfielder added.
Guinea play their opening African Cup of Nations match against Madagascar on June 22.
