PSG midfielder favours Liverpool over Man United despite huge contract offer

Adrien Rabiot will turn down a £170,00-a-week contract offer from Manchester United because he wants to join Liverpool, according to reports.

The PSG midfielder has long been linked with a move to Anfield and has yet to agree a deal with a club ahead of his free transfer this summer.

United are keen to strengthen this summer after a dismal season and have identified Rabiot as a potential target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford and is willing to offer a contract worth £9million per year plus a £4.5million sign-on fee.

Rabiot, however, would rather join the European Champions than play in the Europa League next season, and will reportedly rebuff United’s advances.

Juventus, Tottenham and Barcelona are also interested in signing him but his wage demands are proving a stumbling block for most clubs.

Rabiot has been out of favour with Thomas Tuchel for quite some time after being suspended in March for celebrating at a nightclub following PSG’s defeat to United in the Champions League.
