Reds negotiating new loan deal for 22-year-old midfielder

Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella could be set for a return to Spanish side Extremadura next season, according to El PeriĆ³dico Extremadura.

The 22-year-old spent an ill-fated two-week loan spell during the previous campaign with the Almendralejo-based club after making a deadline-day move on January 31.

However, by February 13 he was forced to return to Liverpool due to his documentation arriving too late with his loan club.

Both Liverpool and Extremadura were disappointed with the outcome of the loan agreement, with Chirivella spending the remainder of last season back on Merseyside.

But the midfielder could be on his way back to the Spanish side ahead of the 2019/20 campaign as the two sides are reportedly working on a new deal for the player.

El PeriĆ³dico Extremadura report that Chirivellaā€™s name ā€œsounds stronglyā€ with Extremadura, who are keen to secure him again.

Itā€™s unclear at this stage whether or not the deal would be another loan or a permanent move.
