Fulham set to demand £9million compensation for Harvey Elliot

Fulham are ready to demand up to £9million in compensation from Liverpool for new signing Harvey Elliot, according to Sky Sports.

The talented youngster made the switch to Anfield at the weekend after turning down interest from a host of other top European sides, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

16-year-old Elliot made his Reds debut against Napoli in the 3-0 loss in Edinburgh on Sunday just hours after signing his Liverpool deal.

The Professional Football Compensation Committee will decide on the fee Liverpool are due to pay Fulham for Elliot.

The Reds currently hold the record for the highest ever compensation fee paid out by a Premier League club – £8million for Danny Ings in 2015 after his switch from Burnley.

On Elliot, Jurgen Klopp commented: “I can say many positive things about the boy because we have signed him and he decided to join us when he could have gone pretty much anywhere. He wanted to be part of Liverpool because of his talent.

“Now that he is here, let’s work with him. He needs game time, we have to see where he will get that. He is obviously a fine, fine footballer – that is the reason why we were really interested.”
