Ellie Fletcher Joins Sheffield United Women On Loan

Another departure, but hopefully not a permanent one.
The club announced on Saturday that 20 year old defender Ellie Fletcher has joined FA WSL 2 (or Women’s Championship League) Sheffield United on loan ahead of the new FA Women’s Super League season.
After the multiple departures that Liverpool FC Women have seen over the past year and change, the news might come with some trepidation. Fletcher is a young and talented defender, and the idea of losing yet another player to another team is a little scary.
Thankfully, this is just a repeat of the loan spell she went on during the first half of the 2018-2019 season, and she returned to the Liverpool ranks once that loan was served in full.
Fletcher joined the Reds from the Manchester United Regional Talent Center in 2016 and has made appearances in the England U19s and recently joined the U21 camps. She has made five appearances for the first team.
Fletcher will join former Liverpool defender Leandra Little and are due to face off against Liverpool in the group stage of the Continental Cup on September 22nd, with the FA WSL season starting the weekend of September 7th and 8th. All matches will be available, anywhere and for free, through the upcoming FA Player app.
So happy to be back as a Blade⚔️ Looking forward to this season and what this team can achieve #UTB https://t.co/lLi0Ng6835
