Harry Kane Fears Spurs Have Already Fallen Too Far Behind Liverpool

Spurs suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Such is the ferocity of Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table that Tottenham Hotspur main man Harry Kane believes that their first defeat may have already put the title race out of their reach.

Their loss to Newcastle and their draw against Manchester City means that they are now five points behind Liverpool, who have scooped up a perfect nine points from their first nine.

Kane described his disappointment after the game, lamenting the difficult task his team will have trying to catch up.

“As you’re seeing from Manchester City and Liverpool there is no letting up from them,” he said.

“I said before the start of the season that if we could put a run together, get that momentum, maybe winning for two-three months on the spin without dropping any points, then that’s what it’s going to take. It’s a disappointing start but there is a long way to go. “I said as much after the first weekend of the season. Liverpool won on the Friday night and then Manchester City won early on the Saturday. They set the standard with those results and I knew we had to keep up with them, make sure we win, especially at home.”

After years of being the underdogs, it’s nice that Liverpool Football Club are once again the team keeping opposing players up at night. Long may it continue.
