Jurgen Klopp says Steven Gerrard should be Liverpool manager next

Jurgen Klopp told FourFourTwo that Steven Gerrard should be the next manager to take charge of Liverpool Football Club.
He said: “If you ask who should follow me, I’d say Stevie. I help him whenever I can. If someone gets your job, it’s not about them, it’s about you not being good enough.
“I’m old enough to know that I give this job everything. I’m not a genius, I’m not perfect, but I give the club 100 per cent. If that’s enough, great. If it’s not, then it’s just the problem of the situation.”
The German has been a breath of fresh air at Liverpool and has worked miracles to get the Reds back to the pinnacle of European football after just a few seasons.
While it would be a real fairytale story to see Gerrard take over at Liverpool and finally win the Premier League medal he craves, it could be dangerous for his legacy as a player.
If he fails as a manager at Anfield it would taint his legacy to an extent and Liverpool fans only want more good memories with the former midfielder and given his lack of experience as a coach at the top level, there’s a chance it goes awry.
That said, the thought of Stevie G coming back to the club and mimicking Kenny Dalglish’s player and managerial career at Anfield is rather enticing. For the time being, however, we should all just enjoy Jurgen Klopp.
