Daniel James appears to suffer head injury

Daniel James appeared to be knocked unconscious during an international game with Wales and was allowed to play on.

Ryan Giggs told reporters after the game that Dan James didn’t get knocked out and was just pretending before he went on to say that Wales’ medical staff cleared him of any head injuries.

He said: “The physio came over but there was no problem. We did all the (concussion) tests at half-time and he was fine.

“He stayed down and was a bit streetwise. He told the doctors ‘I’m not moving, I’m just sitting still’. Not to get anyone sent off, he was just using his nous.”

It’s a bit odd to feign a head injury but it’s good to hear that James isn’t seriously injured. The Welshman will likely face Liverpool at the weekend but all things aside, it’s good to know he avoided any dangerous injuries.

United are in terrible form at the moment and have won just two games all season but the Red Devils should put up a big fight at Old Trafford to prevent Liverpool from equalling City’s record of 18 consecutive top-flight victories.

The Reds are top of the Premier League table and will be desperate to make it nine wins from nine this season.
