Jamie Carragher lauds 'brilliant' Sadio Mane

Jamie Carragher has lauded the ‘brilliant’ Sadio Mane and says that the Senegal attacker is his favourite Liverpool player.

The former defender told Liverpoolfc.com: “Even after the first couple of games, I said Mane, probably along with Raheem Sterling, was possibly the best left winger in the world.

“I absolutely love him, he’s my favourite player at the club. He’s brilliant, he’s always got a smile on his face, always there, always gets knocked about, gets goals, setting others up.

“He’s the one who came in at the very start under Klopp, his first real big signing, and I think ever since then he’s just been getting better and better. He’s just a machine.”

The former Southampton star has scored six goals this season and is playing with an ease that underlines his confidence.

The international break ends this week and Mane will need to be at his best to help the Reds get through a run of games which will see Liverpool face the Manchester clubs, Spurs, Arsenal and Genk twice in the Champions League.

If Jurgen Klopp can guide his players through that run of games, he will set his side up for a strong push to win the Premier League title.
