Liverpool fans salivate over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain display

Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Liverpool fans were overjoyed with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s superb two-goal display against Genk on Wednesday.

The Englishman has been working hard in training since pre-season started with the aim of returning to the starting lineup and to his pre-injury form and it looks like he is well on the way.

Chamberlain was Liverpool’s best midfielder in the 2017/18 season and cruelly missed out on 90% of last season’s incredible domestic and European campaigns.

Now, however, he looks sharp and his brilliant long range finishes against Genk show that he should be used by Jurgen Klopp from the start of games with increasing regularity.

Liverpool fans were rightly overjoyed with the way the Ox played in Belgium but Klopp still needs to manage his game time to ensure that he doesn’t suffer any niggling injuries.

The 26-year-old is entering his prime and will play a vital role in Liverpool’s season if he can remain fit and in form as the Reds can use him in a number of positions.

Having said that, he should really only be used in central positions to ensure that his pace, eye for goal and dynamic playing style is put to best use.
