John Aldridge slams Martin Atkinson after shocking refereeing display

John Aldridge was absolutely furious with referee Martin Atkinson after his decisions in two games this weekend proved his ineptitude.

He took to his Twitter account to say: “Watched the Everton v Spurs game, 100% shows what we LFC fans have known for ages.

“Martin Atkinson the referee is not good enough. Inept! Shocking! Words fail me. Feel for Gomes and also for Son!

“That incident summed him up.”

Liverpool almost dropped three points thanks to Atkinson’s decision as part of the VAR panel at Villa Park on Saturday before Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane rescued the points.

The 48-year-old made a poor call at Old Trafford two weeks ago when Liverpool dropped two points and he almost forced Jurgen Klopp’s side into a corner once again but their mentality and quality shone through.

Liverpool need to take action and report him to the FA and the Premier League because he clearly isn’t good enough to referee games at the highest level anymore.
