Kyle Walker says Man City don't watch Liverpool games

Kyle Walker.

Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker says that he and his teammates don’t pay attention to Liverpool’s games as they aim to close the gap on their rivals.

“We were concentrating on our game,” the right-back said after being asked if they were aware of what was happening at Villa Park.

“There are still so many games to play in the Premier League. Obviously, a lot of people talk about the title race, but anything can happen in football as you have just seen out there.

“We just need to keep doing our job, keep getting the three points and that’s all we can do really.”

Liverpool vs. Aston Villa.

Manchester City beat Southampton late on after coming from behind to win the game thanks to a Kyle Walker winner and had Liverpool tasted defeat at Villa Park, their gap at the top of the table would have been cut to just three points.

Crucially, the Reds won their game 2-1 thanks to a dramatic winner from Sadio Mane which means that even if Jurgen Klopp succumbs to Manchester City on Sunday, they will still have a three-point buffer.

Better yet, if they win, they will open up a commanding nine-point lead which will set them up nicely for the congested festive fixture list.
