Liverpool fans claim Virgil van Dijk was tapping up superstar forward at Ballon d’Or ceremony

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk was spotted with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe at the 2019 Ballon D’Or ceremony on Monday night.

With that comes the inevitable suggestions that perhaps the Dutchman was tapping up the Frenchman.

Liverpool have been linked with Mbappe in recent times, however, Jurgen Klopp has stated that the deal would be unlikely to go ahead due to the price tag that would be placed on Mbappe’s name.

However, you have to have hope, and the Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to share their optimism.

It would be a superb signing if Liverpool were able to pull it off at some point, but just to reiterate, the deal seems unlikely.
