Alisson’s message ahead of Saints clash

Reds goalkeeper Alisson has stated that Liverpool cannot stop despite possessing a 19-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool defeated West Ham United 2-0 in the Premier League at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night thanks to Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as they both scored goals.

The victory ensured the Reds a 19-point lead at the top of the table, which means the club only need eight more victories to ensure a maiden Premier League title.

Liverpool host Southampton this weekend in the Premier League, and Alisson believes that in order to gain the three points, his team need to continue to show the form that they did against the Hammers in order to get a step closer to the league title.

“We always said, and we are always saying, we are focused on the next challenge and the next game,” Alisson told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We are already focused on the next game that we have on Saturday. The next challenge is the most important of the season. We’ll try to do our best to win everything.

“We know our qualities and we know how far we can go but we can only go far if we do big performances on the pitch. The Premier League is top level so you cannot stop and you just need to keep going.”

Alisson is correct in regards to everything he has said. Liverpool cannot drop off now. Jurgen Klopp’s side are so close to winning a maiden Premier League title for the club, which is why they need to continue accumulating points.

There is also the opportunity to break a few records within the Premier League. Of course, that is not the main objective, but it would be a nice touch to what has been a superb season thus far.
