Jurgen Klopp states that his team deserved the victory against the Hammers

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has stated that his Liverpool team deserved the three points against West Ham United.

Liverpool defeated West Ham 2-0 in the Premier League at the Olympic Stadium thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The victory ensured the Reds a 19-point lead at the top of the table, which means the club only need eight more victories to ensure a maiden Premier League title.

Despite the victory, Klopp feels his team could improve, but he knows his side performed well enough to claim the points.

“We could have done a lot of things better but there was only one team who deserved to win,” the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports .

“We could have passed better, defended better. Who cares? These players played outstanding football so often, it was a normal performance.

“We never had 100 per cent rhythm. It is tough to play against such a defensive-orientated team.”

Klopp is correct in regards to everything he has said. Liverpool could have been better, but there is no denying only one side deserved the points.

One could argue that the clash against the Hammers was Liverpool’s easiest fixture in the Premier League this season. Klopp’s side were simply not tested in the slightest.

The biggest positive to take from the game is the fact that the victory takes Liverpool even closer to claiming the league title. Liverpool’s next Premier League clash is against Southampton at Anfield this Saturday.
