Richard Dunne states key motivation for Liverpool this weekend
Former Manchester City defender Richard Dunne believes that Liverpool will be desperate to defeat Manchester United this weekend, as the Red Devils are the only club that have taken points off the Reds this season in the Premier League.
Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield on Sunday looking to take another step closer to a maiden Premier League title.
Liverpool possess a 14-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand. Manchester United on the other hand sit in fifth and are five points outside the top four.
The Reds have only dropped points in one fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.
Dunne believes Liverpool will be even more prepared for the game against the Red Devils this weekend due to what happened earlier in the season at Old Trafford.
“Liverpool know that this is the only team which has taken points off them all season, so the leaders will want to put the record straight,” Dunne wrote in his piece for The Evening Herald.

Dunne is correct. Liverpool did not play well at Old Trafford, which should provide Jurgen Klopp’s side even more motivation to claim the three points come Sunday.
The Reds defeated Manchester United 3-1 at Anfield in the Premier League last season, and if form is anything to go by, Liverpool should be able to claim a similar result.
