Pep Guardiola questions if Liverpool’s lead is good for the Premier League
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has stated that an owner from the Premier League would not be happy with Liverpool’s 22-point lead at the top of the table.
Liverpool defeated Southampton 4-0 in the Premier League at Anfield on the weekend thanks to goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October 2019. In total, Liverpool have accumulated 73 points from 25 Premier League fixtures.
Guardiola believes that one Premier League owner will not be happy with how big of a lead Liverpool have accumulated this season.
“An owner from the Premier League said that cannot happen again, so it’s not good for the Premier League (that) City win the title in that way with 100 points,” Guardiola told the media after Manchester City’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

“So now it’s Liverpool you have to be concerned, the owner of the Premier League.”
There is no denying that the Premier League will not be pleased with how well Liverpool are currently traveling. This is the one league in the world where it is always tight.
However, teams are starting to win the Premier League by accumulating points at a rate we have not seen before.
No side in the league appears to be on the same level as Liverpool. One could also make that argument about Manchester City, despite the fact they have been poor this season.
