Gary Neville says this could prevent Liverpool from winning the Premier League

Gary Neville believes a lack of experience could prove costly for Liverpool in their bid to win the Premier League title for the first time.

While the Reds failed to fully capitalise on Manchester City losing to Newcastle United as they drew against Leicester City, a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League will still have Pep Guardiola worried about his side’s chances of turning it around.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville reckons Klopp will need to use his experience from his time with Borussia Dortmund to help guide his players through the next few months in order to win the Premier League.

“They are going to have to handle it [the pressure] every single second and every single minute of every single day,” he told Sky Sports.

“That is a positive because they are in the title race, but it can wear you down and your legs start to go.

“And you need your experienced players in the dressing room to drag you through, but Liverpool do not have a great deal of experience.

“So they will have to rely on Jurgen Klopp and his experiences with Dortmund to be able to navigate.

“Maybe some of the players’ experience from last time that they had under Brendan Rodgers to navigate where they went wrong, how they made mistakes, how they can get it right this time.”
