The Liverpool manager delivers some positive news about Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson.

With Liverpool being held to a draw by Everton in their Premier League restart over the weekend, the Reds can’t clinch the title on Wednesday when they take on Crystal Palace at an empty Anfield as they would have hoped.

They can, though, set up a tantalizing title decider next week against Manchester City. And their chances of doing so were boosted today with news that Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson are both fit and ready to play.

“Mo trained completely normal yesterday and today,” Jürgen Klopp said when asked about the status of Salah, who made the bench but didn’t log minutes on Sunday against Everton. “He’s available. The same with Robbo.”

However, it’s not all good news on the injury front, with the Liverpool manager confirming that neither James Milner nor Joël Matip will be able to take part on Wednesday evening against Roy Hodgson’s South London Eagles.

Milner strained his hamstring on the weekend against Everton and could be fit to take part in next Thursday league game against City. Matip injured his toe and similarly the hope will be that he may be able to play next week.

In the meantime, following the longest stretch without playing competitive football many of his players will have experienced, Klopp warned fans not to expect everyone to be able to go 90 minutes or to be in mid-season form.

“We can’t just close our eyes as well and say ‘same line up,’” Klopp noted. “It’s an intense period. But being able to make five subs will be massively important to us with so many games in a such a short period of time.”
