Mohamed Salah: It’s Liverpool’s Time to Win The Premier League

Is right.

Even before a ball was kicked last night, there was a collective sense of relief by Liverpool fans when they saw Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah—especially Mohamed Salah—on the team sheet.

Without those two mainstays, the team lacked its distinctive attacking prowess and cohesion. With Robbo and Mo—and the 9 other players in Liverpool’s best starting XI—the Reds ran riot over Roy’s Boys. And of course Salah was a major part of that threat.

Salah, and the rest of the squad, are ready to get their “just desserts” for a season of dominance: that elusive league title.

“I feel great,” Salah told Sky Sports after the match. “Since I came here I said I want to win the Premier League with the team. The city didn’t win it for a long time, so it was the right time.

“Maybe last year we had a chance to win it but Man City also performed really good and they won it. It’s our time to win it and it’s great.

“We had a great performance today and all the players were unbelievable. I think all the players are motivated, everyone is motivated in his way – but everyone is motivated to win the league.”

There was a certain level of panic from some corners of the fan base after City got off to such a flying (re)start and Liverpool stumbled out of the blocks against Everton. But now it’s a matter of when not if. Indeed, Liverpool could be named Premier League champions before they have a chance to kick a ball again.

And if Chelsea fail to get anything against City, Liverpool will just have to go to Manchester get the league title off them ourselves.

Mo’s right. It’s Liverpool’s time.
