Diogo Jota: Now Valued at €84 Million
According to the CIES. Michael Edwards. Stonks.
Diogo Jota had a very productive month for Liverpool FC in November - five goals in five games is a solid A+ on any report card. It’s clear that football research group CIES agrees - they are now valuing Diogo at €84 million - equivalent to £75.2million. That’s a steep increase from the fee Liverpool paid for him: £41million in case you already forgot.
The big-5 league players whose transfer value has increased the most in November? @ErlingHaaland tops the table ahead of @BVB teammate Giovanni #Reyna & new @ManUtd ace @B_Fernandes8 More in the @CIES_Football Weekly Post ➡️ https://t.co/m2PwJBapIW pic.twitter.com/ERac0dSB0G

In November alone, Diogo had an increase of €16.5 million/£14.7million. The only three players in Europe’s top leagues to see their value increase more than Jota were Borussia Dortmund wunderkinds Erling Haaland (up €35.3m) and Gio Reyna (up €34.4m), and Manchester United penalty-savant Bruno Fernandes (up €19.9m).
The Diogo Jota transfer is yet another recruitment success story under the stewardship of Klopp-Edwards. No one knows exactly what goes on behind the scenes, but thankfully the panic signings that were commonplace under Brendan Rodgers’ tenure as manager have become a thing of the past. Signings like Diogo have a clear path to success because of the collaboration between the coaches and recruitment team, and that’s a wonderful thing. You love to see it.
