That’s absolutely what you’d call a 4-0 victory against Wolves.

Fans returned to Anfield today and saw an absolutely perfect 4-0 victory against Wolves unfold in front of them. Whether or not it’s a good idea to have fans back (this author thinks it’s a pretty bad idea), it’s impossible to discount what the presence of fans does and what it means to hear the Kop sing again. Caoimhin Kelleher, making his first Premier League start, was overflowing with joy after the game.

“It was top class,” Kelleher told the club’s website. “From the first minute we really were on fire tonight and we played really well. We scored four goals [and] could maybe have had a few more as well. It was a great all-round team performance.”

Kelleher has another clean sheet under his belt after pulling off some excellent saves and looking (for the most part) completely confident in goal.

“I’m just trying to be there for the team to help them out in those moments and thankfully again I was able to make those saves and get the clean sheet,” he added. “To get the clean sheet, for me and the back four, is the most important thing for us. We’ve done our job then.”

“It was obviously amazing,” Kelleher said about the return of fans to the stadium. “It’s been so long without them that it felt kind of strange to see them, but it was such an amazing feeling to have them back in the stadium. The support they give, honestly, is different class. You saw it today how we perform when they’re there, so to have them back today was a real plus.”
