Vicky Jepson Praises Team After 4-0 Win Against Crystal Palace
It’s just goals all around for the Reds this weekend.
Fans returning to both Liverpool stadiums seem to have made all the difference today, with Liverpool Women netting four goals against Crystal Palace at Prenton Park today. With another three points under their belt, the Reds are now two points away from leader Leicester City, and hopefully, that much closer to promotion.
“I’m pleased with the performance and the outcome, every manager wants more goals but the big one today is not conceding, we took our goals well and kept a clean sheet,” Vicky Jepson said after the match ended.
“I think we could have got more but for their emergency defending. They were throwing bodies on the line in the dying minutes, without that it could have been five, six or seven, but they tried to catch us on the transition at times.”
Liverpool were dominant through the entire game, but the stand out performances were from Babjide (as always) and Furness up front, and Meikayla Moore in centre back.
“We managed to shut up very quickly thought and I thought the back four were great today,” Jepson added. “It was [also] great to have the fans back in, it has been so long without them so massive credit to staff at the club for making sure it happened and working so hard behind the scenes.”
“It is always important to get a win, but it was important for the fans today. We owed it to them.”
