Add another 24 year-old centre back to the mix? Sure, why not.

Nothing goes together better with an international break than really random transfer rumours. According to reports from Italian outlet Fanta Calcio (courtesy of the Liverpool Echo), Liverpool FC has been tracking Torino’s Gleison Bremer since 2018 and is keen on bringing the Brazilian defender to Anfield.

Other suitors include Torino’s cross-town rivals Juventus, who have been scouting Bremer frequently. The Brazilian defender joined Torino in 2018 and is currently on a five-year deal at the club. Since then, he’s made 83 appearances for the club with 11 goals and four assists along the way. His standout skill is arguably his ability to contribute from set-pieces, acting as a threat on headers from crosses and long balls.

Of course, anything who reads this site regularly will probably know that Liverpool has a whopping five centre-backs on in their first-team squad at the moment, so this rumour really makes no sense, unless there are already plans underway to move on from one of them that we don’t know about. On to the next one.
