Leroy Sané is under contract until 2025 and Bayern Munich must sign him to a new deal or risk losing him to an English club according to reports out of Germany.

Having developed into an increasingly important part of Bayern Munich’s squad, the German giants now risk losing 27-year-old winger Leroy Sané with interest in the player amongst top English sides and a contract that expires in 2025.

That’s the story according to Sky Germany, at least, who suggest that there is some worry at Bayern when it comes to Sané, who will have one year to run on his current contract at the end of the current season and with serious negotiations on an extension not yet having begun.

Liverpool and manager Jürgen Klopp along with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are said to be the concern for Bayern, with both clubs and managers seeing Sané as a potential top target should he not agree a new deal before the end of the season.

For Liverpool, part of the appeal could be contingent on the future of Mohamed Salah given Sané primarily plays on the left. If Salah were to depart at the end of the current season, there are few players in Europe right now who look more natural fits to replace the Egyptian superstar.

However, on that front there have been growing rumblings in recent weeks that Salah wants to continue to compete at the highest levels of football beyond 2023-24 and that as a result the 31-year-old could in fact end up signing a new Liverpool deal.
