The wheel of Fabio continues to turn this week.

Earlier this week, journalist David Lynch reported that Liverpool FC were interested in recalling Fabio Carvalho from his loan spell at RB Leipzig due to a lack of playing time.

In response, Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder said:

“These are typical power games that ultimately emerge.”

Well, ok, sure? It’s a bit of a puzzling answer as there’s no commitment in the form of an option or obligation for Leipzig to sign the player at the end of the season.

Liverpool is still committed to the development of Carvalho as they are keen to send him somewhere else in the 2nd half of the season where he can play.

A report from Ryan Taylor of The Mirror states that the Portuguese playmaker is open to rejoining former club Fulham. There is mutual interest from the Cottagers, despite there seemingly no real need for another creative attacker in their ranks.

Fulham boss Marco Silva was asked about Carvalho ahead of the 4-3 defeat at Anfield earlier this month. He downplayed the rumours then, saying:

“It’s not for me to talk about it. Liverpool bought him, that’s for Jurgen and Liverpool to talk about.”

Let’s see if the young midfielder gets a recall when the winter window opens. He should have several suitors, with Burnley also considered a previously interested suitor this summer.
