Harvey Elliott Wants Redemption
Elliott wants the team to make up for their recent poor performances.
Things haven’t been great in Liverpool land over the last couple of weeks. As JĂĽrgen Klopp’s tenure winds down, the team isn’t ending on the high note we’d all hoped they would. Is it just me, or is Klopp’s beard getting more grey?
Harvey Elliott assures us that the team understands our frustration and echo the feeling themselves.
“The last couple of weeks haven’t gone the way we wanted them to, but unfortunately that’s part of football,” he said in an interview with the official site.
“We haven’t been good enough, we haven’t made our chances count. We’ve reflected on it, we’ve studied it and we all know as a team that we need to go out now and put it right – not only for us, but for the fans, for the gaffer and for everyone else.”
There are three more games for them still left to play. The good news is that they’ve officially qualified for the Champions League. The bad news is everything else. But Spurs visit Anfield on Sunday, and it’s another chance for a bit of redemption.
“Our performances haven’t been the best and I feel like this weekend is a great opportunity, especially at home [because] it’s been a long time since we had a home game,” Elliott continued.
“We just need to finish strong now. We all know that the past couple of weeks haven’t been our best, but now there are a few games left, a few opportunities to go out and put things right.”
In some ways, the lack of any real reward to aim for aside from pride and a strong finish to Klopp’s time with the club, almost makes these next three games feel even more important. Hopefully Liverpool fight like there’s nothing left to lose on in their last three games and make them a good memory.
