A rumour of Díaz making a dramatic move to Manchester City is false.

Twitter is Twittering as usual, and on Tuesday there was a rumour going around that Luis Díaz was making a dramatic, £59 million move to Manchester City. The claim was made by a Spanish outlet. It was said that Pep Guardiola planned to replace Julian Alvarez with Díaz. However, Man City have denied interest in the Colombian.

Tuesday was quite a day for Díaz rumours. It started in the morning when Colombian news sources said that Barcelona had come calling. After that came the Man City claim, which kept folks interested for the rest of the day.

James Pearce, along with other Liverpool sources, including The Echo, have confirmed that Liverpool expect to keep Díaz for the coming season.

Liverpool have yet to complete transfers for new players in the summer transfer window. With less than a week to go before the season kicks off, and with time dwindling to make any changes at all, it is concerning. While no one expected Arne Slot to completely overhaul an already excellent Liverpool squad, the holes in the team haven’t been filled. Given that fact, it seems unlikely that they would be willing to lose a player as valuable and important as Díaz.
