Another youth is leaving the nest. Harvey Blair has finalized a switch to Championship club Portsmouth, the club announced on Friday.

Blair had been at the Liverpool Academy starting at the U12 level, and graduated through the ranks until making his senior debut in 2021 against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup.

While the following seasons were marred by injury, Blair was able to make regular appearances through Arne Slot’s first preseason campaign with the Reds. The 20 year old appeared in all the friendly matches against Preston, Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Las Palmas.

Blair posted on social media: “Growing up, it was always Liverpool in my heart. Wearing the red shirt and playing for the first team was a dream come true.

“Thank you Liverpool FC, for the memories, the lessons, and the unwavering support. Thank you again. Now it’s time to start the next chapter.”

Portsmouth most recently won promotion to the Championship league for the upcoming season after seven years in League One, and 12 years in the bottom two leagues before that.
