Brendan Rodgers hails Liverpool defender after Leicester City clash
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has given right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold plenty of praise for his performance against the Foxes on Boxing Day.
The Reds secured a 4-0 victory against Rodgers’ Leicester City, which included a goal and two assists from Alexander-Arnold.
Rodgers certainly did not hide what he thought of Alexander-Arnold, as he labelled the youngster “phenomenal” after his man-of-the-match performance at the King Power Stadium.
“For me, he plays full-back as a midfield player. His range of passing is phenomenal … he was a midfielder as a youngster,” Rodgers told the media after the match.

“His quality, the experiences he has gained, for Jurgen he has been absolutely amazing. Trent is up there and is very much England’s number one [right-back] and playing consistently at a high level.”
Former Liverpool manager Rodgers, like many, has seen the talent that Alexander-Arnold possesses close up.
It is very exciting for Liverpool fans that the youngster was able to run the game from right-back against Leicester City.
It is not a position that one can naturally dominant a football match from. The scary thing is, Alexander-Arnold is only 21 years old. His best years are well and truly ahead of him.
The victory put a 13-point gap between the Reds and second-placed Leicester City. Liverpool will be looking to gain three more points against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield come Sunday in the Premier League.
