Rumour Mongering: PSV Pull Out of Van den Berg Chase
The dominoes continue to fall.
According to Dutch football insider Rik Elfrink, PSV Eindhoven have pulled out of the race to sign Liverpool FC defender Sepp van den Berg after their latest bid was rejected.
The 22-year-old defender still has many admirers, including Bundesliga sides Mainz, Wolfsburg, and Stuttgart.

Truth be told, PSV never figured to be a serious landing spot for Sepp, due to Liverpool’s £20 million asking price. That would have broken PSV’s transfer record. Their first bid for Sepp came in at £8.4 million, and that seems to be too big a gulf between both parties for any agreement to be reached.
With the transfer deadline approaching, there’s still time for Liverpool and Sepp to find his next club. With a host of clubs interested, it’s likely that the big Dutch ginger’s time as a Liverpool FC player will come to an end sooner rather than later.
