Liverpool’s Egyptian King has recorded 10 goals and assists in seven of eight seasons since joining the club.

With ten goals and ten assists to show for his first 17 games of the 2024-25 season for superstar forward Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s Egyptian King has now achieved that tally in seven of eight seasons since he returned to the Premier League and joined the Reds.

Fans might like to argue over where players from teams and eras rank, but it’s clear now if there was any doubt before the only conversation left that’s worth having when it comes to Salah is whether he’s the best winger in the history of the Premier League. Spoiler: he is.

“I’ve worked with him now for four or five months, you guys have seen him for six or seven years,” manager Arne Slot said when asked about what the player has achieved following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa that saw Salah score the settler for the host Reds.

“It’s special that he scores so many goals,” the Liverpool manager continued. “What makes it even more impressive is that he does this year after year after year. Not many players are able to do that and that he is able to do this tells you a lot about the quality he has.”

Salah now has 221 goals in 366 total appearances for Liverpool, ranking him fifth all time for the Reds. His 48 goals in Europe are a club record. He holds records for goals in a debut season (44), most games scored in a season (34), and consecutive games scored in (10).

He’s eighth all time amongst Premier League scorers, just ten behind Thierry Henry, 12 back of Frank Lampard, and 19 and 22 behind Sergio Aguero and third-place Andy Cole and if he Liverpool give him the contract extension he deserves should end up third or better.

With 75 Premier League assists, Salah is also 13th in that category and another season in Red could easily see him flirting with 100 and potentially breaking into the top five goal creators since the Premier League was created. Hopefully the club give him that chance.
