Your Rumor Is Bullshit: Trent Is Not Demanding To Be Club’s Top Earner
A certain rag newspaper does not have the inside track to negotiations between Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool.
Things are pretty great at Liverpool at the moment. Despite losing an all-time great manager in Jurgen Klopp, new gaffer Arne Slot has the Reds absolutely flying and top of both leagues, Premier and Champions.
The one major negative—or rather three negatives rolled into one—is the ongoing speculation over the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander Arnold. Each player can claim to be in the conversation for best in the world at their position, and all three would likely make an all-time XI of Liverpool players.
Clubs, players, and agents alike have all kept their cards close to their chests, as negotiations are surely ongoing.
Even the best connected journalists have kept quiet on this particular topic. So, naturally, a certain newspaper of disrepute, one that has been banned from Liverpool press conferences, would have the inside track on Trent’s contract demands.
According to that rag that no one should buy, read, or support in any way, Trent Alexander-Arnold is demanding to be the club’s top earner, outpacing Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk. This is obviously mere speculation to drive clicks, as it seems impossibly unlikely that Trent or his agent would leak anything to any so-called journalist writing for that despicable publication.
Trent very well might be demanding wages that the club are not willing to meet, up to and including being top earner. But that’s all speculation. There’s no way that The Scum has any inside track here.
