Rumour Mongering: Kerkez Prefers A Move to Liverpool
Clubs have reportedly begun talks with the player’s representatives.
According to a report from The I Paper’s Pete Hall and Mark Douglas, Liverpool FC, Manchester City and Manchester United have all contacted Milos Kerkez’s representatives. However, the 21-year-old favours a move to Anfield over the Manchester clubs.
Bournemouth have no plans to sell in January, despite already signing a ready-made left-back replacement in Julio Soler from Argentinian side Lanus this month, in a deal that could rise to £11.5m.
None of the teams have made concrete proposals for Kerkez yet. The Cherries have no pressure to sell, but it is understood that it is willing to consider offers in the region of £50m.
Linking up again with Liverpool director of football Richard Hughes, who signed Kerkez previously at Bournemouth, is understood to play a significant part in the thinking of Hungary international. His international captain, Dominik Szoboszlai, also plays for Liverpool.
Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri also continues to be a target for the Reds if they recruit a player for the left-back position.
The report also rubbishes rumours of Bournemouth’s interest in Liverpool forward Ben Doak that surfaced earlier this week and that they will not entertain offers that involve swapping Doak for Antoine Semenyo.
