Did you watch the fireworks match??

The best match in our current Women’s international break — arguably, sorry USWNT fans — was Japan v Colombia, which saw Japan have an absolute ball, scoring four to Colombia’s one (and Caicedo deserves one if we’re honest).

Fuka Nagano did not make the headlines, but she did add a lot to the stability and fluidity to Japan’s XI for the second set of goals, which took their scoreline from 2-1 to 4-1 — and we would love more of that on Merseyside.

Teagan Micah was less lucky in the Matilda’s goal, seeing Australia fall 2-1 to the USA in the SheBelieves Cup, though the fact that Micagh picked up the MOTM award underlines the fact that she was key to keeping the scoreline so narrow.

The Matildas did previously lose to Nagano’s Japan in the cup, but Micah did not feature — perhaps to the side’s peril given her recent performance.

Liverpool FC Women are currently in seventh in their domestic league, and will hope to come back strong after the international break to climb the table.
