Liverpool and Chelsea ready to pursue England-bound Christian Pulisic

Liverpool and Chelsea are poised to do battle over Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, but not until the summer, according to reports today.
The American attacker has apparently chose England as his next destination, alerting top clubs to his availability.
The 20-year-old, who joined Dortmund in 2015, is rated at £70million, and would represent a huge coup for any club who landed him.

Jurgen Klopp has been a long-term admirer of the USA international but will face a real contest with Chelsea and Tottenham for the player’s signature.
Dortmund are reportedly prepared to let Pulisic go as his deal expires in 2020, with sporting director Michael Zorc admitting: “We have known these rumours for many years. We plan at least until the end of the season with him.”
Pulisic’s father told Sky Sports back in the summer: “The Premier League is a league where he’s always aspired to be in and play in. As a player nowadays, there are so few players staying at one club throughout a career, the chances of him moving to different clubs and leagues is a high probability.”
And the player himself was open about the prospect of a move to England.
“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” said Pulisic, when asked about a move to the Premier League.
“As you can see, we are having a great year at [German league leaders] Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that.
“Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen.”
