Dominik Szoboszlai Wins Player of the Month Again
Dominik Szoboszlai has once again been recognized for his role as the one bright spot in a hard-to-watch Liverpool season, winning Liverpool’s Player of the Month award for the fourth time in 2025/26.
“Thank you to them [the supporters] again,” the Hungarian told Liverpoolfc.com. “Four times is very nice but I just have to keep on going because the season is still long and we have a lot of things to achieve.”
Asked to provide a highlight from the month of February, he avoided the suggestion of his wonder-strike against Manchester City:
“It’s a special goal, unfortunately the end of the game didn’t go as we planned.
“We lost and [I] got the red card, so it wasn’t the best ending. But I’m happy to score a goal like that.
“But the Brighton one was more of a team goal and I think this is a team sport, so I prefer this one.
“I’ve played in different positions quite often but I think that’s a positive side of me that I can play in a couple of positions on the pitch.
“To be honest, I just want to be on the pitch and help the team and take maybe more responsibility than the last two seasons.
“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming games and trying to get back on the track where we were [in] the last month.”
The awards thus far this season have been allocated to four different players:
August: Dominik Szoboszlai
September: Federico Chiesa
October: Dominik Szoboszlai
November: Dominik Szoboszlai
December: Hugo Ekitiké
January: Florian Wirtz
February: Dominik Szoboszlai
