Rumour Mongering: Eduardo Camavinga Available For Sale This Summer

According to MARCA’s Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid’s 23-year-old French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga will potentially be on the move this summer.

Here’s what the journalist had to say:

“It’s not a non-transferable soccer player, there are already Premier League clubs waiting for him. At the moment Real Madrid does not set a price, but it is clear that they do not want to go below 50 million.”

It’s vague, but really, we all know there are only a few clubs he could potentially move to. Expect both Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool to get in the mix. The only non-English club I could see getting involved in is Bayern Munich, but even so, they tend to lose out when English clubs compete with them.

My initial thoughts are that €50m isn’t a bad fee at all. Camavinga’s versatility makes that fee even more palatable. The big question mark is that, in recent seasons, the player has been rather injury-prone, and moving to a more physical English league could further exacerbate the issue.

I certainly wouldn’t mind the addition of Camavinga to a Liverpool midfield that has looked out of balance all season, but as a complementary piece instead of the main solution to our problems.
