Alexander Isak Named to Liverpool Traveling Squad to Face PSG
Following Saturday’s 4-0 embarrassment at the hands of Manchester City in a game that saw Liverpool’s squad appear to give up on the match after going down a goal in the first half and where City took the gas off and passed it around them comfortably after the hour mark, expectations for Wednesday are low.
The Reds will be taking on Paris Saint-Germain in Paris, and given the mood around the club few are expecting a result that favours Liverpool. As another kickoff approaches, though, there will always be room for at least a little bit of hope this squad that has been delivering performances and results well below their talent level this season might finally turn things around.
To that end, team news. And news that after not being ready to be included in the team that faced City on the weekend, striker Alexander Isak is making the trip to Paris having been named to the travelling squad. If he were to make an appearance it would be his first since suffering a broken leg against Tottenham back on the 20th of December.
That leaves only goalkeeper Alisson Becker as well as long-term absences Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, and Giovanni Leoni as key first team players left off the squad heading to Paris today.
