Mohamed Salah’s World Cup run has unfortunately ended, despite a strong and historic showing by the Egyptian national team. Questions, naturally, have now turned to where Salah might end up.

It has been assumed for several years that Saudi Arabia could be a destination for the player, but that always seemed based more on the fact that Salah is Muslim, not on his personal preferences. And as of this writing, no serious links to Cristiano Ronaldo’s the Saudi league have emerged.

However, an interesting link has emerged at the MLS (Meuropean Lretirement Sleague).

The Athletic reports:

Sporting Kansas City has emerged as the top suitor for Mohamed Salah in MLS.

Any MLS club signing Salah is viewed as a longshot due to the Saudi Pro League’s heavy interest in bringing him to the league — and that’s if Salah opts to depart European football this summer at all.

Sources indicate Salah prefers to remain in Europe, but, as he mulls his options, he remains open to a move to MLS.

The MLS is probably a good destination for Mo; he’d be the main man on the team, at least for a few years, and get to play in a widely-watched, competitive league, with a growing and passionate fanbase (all of which cannot be said about the Sauid league).

And as a Liverpool fan, we wouldn’t have to see him return to Anfield in another team’s kit, which I personally would prefer.
