Liverpool FC Transfer News: Luan – LATEST
Liverpool Football Club have reportedly opened talks with Brazil international Luan.
It is claimed that the 24-year-old Grêmio forward has a £15.7million release clause in his contract and that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is willing to trigger it if the player expresses a desire to make the switch to Anfield.
However, Liverpool officials are playing down the link and insist that we have not made an approach.

In May 2017, KopTalk confirmed our interest in the Brazilian and suggested that he may be offered to us in January 2018. At the time we wrote: ‘While reports in Brazil suggest Grêmio are willing to do business, it has been suggested that they want to retain him for their Copa Libertadores campaign which, if they reached the final, would mean he couldn’t make the switch to Anfield until January 2018 which may not interest Liverpool.’ Further comment was also posted on our members’ website.
Grêmio went on to win the Copa Libertadores and Luan was named player of the tournament after scoring 8 goals in 12 appearances.
Again, back in May 2017, Luan’s representative Jair Peixoto suggested his client could be interested in a move to Liverpool while Grêmio president Romildo Bolzan denied ever receiving an offer from us.
‘Liverpool’s interest is genuine but further negotiations would be needed to make something happen,’ – KOPTALK, 15.05.17
