Clearing sale planned with several players set to depart Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is planning a big clearing sale at the club with Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Marko Grujic and Simon Mignolet all set to leave Liverpool this summer.

Seven departures in all, with Sheyi Ojo, Lazar Markovic, and Pedro Chirivella also expected to depart the Reds before the close of the transfer window.

Michael Edwards is set to help Liverpool offload several players in the coming weeks.

According to James Pearce, Klopp hopes to generate a potential £100million in sales after spending heavily in the transfer market this summer.

Danny Ings, who didn’t travel with Liverpool on their pre-season of the United States, aims to leave in search for first-team football ahead of next season.

Southampton, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Newcastle United are all interested in the services of the striker but Liverpool will demand a fee of £20million.

The same applies to Marko Grujic, but Liverpool would prefer if the youngster signed a new deal and went out on a season-long loan. Lazio and Cardiff are both interested in the Serbian international.

The Anfield club will also look for a combined £22million for Sheyi Ojo and Lazar Markovic. Anderlecht, Leganes and Getafe are believed to be interested Markovic, while Ojo will go on loan if the asking price isn’t met.

Fulham, who had Ojo on loan in the Championship last season, are interested in Liverpool’s Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, but a fee of £12.5million has meant interest from the London club has cooled.

Liverpool already sold Danny Ward to Leicester City for a similar fee on Friday afternoon, while the future of Loris Karius remains unknown.

Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Swansea City are interested in Chirivella, who Liverpool are willing to see depart the club for a fee in the region of £5million.

The Spanish midfielder spent last season on loan at Dutch outfit Willem II.

Divock Origi, who has failed to impress during pre-season, is wanted by Spanish side Valencia, with Liverpool willing to let the 23-year-old leave the club for £27m.
