Jurgen Klopp tells trapped Thai boys ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’

Jurgen Klopp has sent Liverpool FC’s best wishes to the 12 Thai boys and their coach trapped in a flooded Thai cave.

The Reds boss was speaking after a dozen boys and their coach where found on Monday after being shut in for almost two weeks.

Klopp said: ‘On behalf of the whole LFC family we wish you from the bottom of our hearts all the best,’ he said in an video message sent to CNN Sport.

‘Stay strong and we are with you. We are following all the news and hoping every second that you see the daylight again.’

British divers found the young football team after monsoon rains trapped them inside the Tham Luang cave network.

Trapped for 10 days before being found, their coach and the boys, aged between 11 and 16, could be held in the cave for up to four months, while authorities wait for the monsoon season to subside.

“So there’s two volunteer Navy Seal doctors that actually sacrificed themselves to stay with the kids up to three, four months until the water subsides. Now the real hard work begins to get these kids out. None of them can swim or dive so that’s going to be a real challenge,” A diving expert told BBC Newsnight.

Ben Reymenants, a Belgian rescuer, said: “Miraculously they found the kids and they all seemed to be in good mental health,” he said in an interview with the BBC’s Emily Maitlis.

“Obviously very weak but they’re all alive and they’ve been sitting on a piece of rock in a dry room for about ten days so that is a miracle.”
