No official move made for Xherdan Shaqiri, despite ‘firm’ interest from Reds.

Liverpool have yet to make an official approach for Xherdan Shaqiri, despite having a firm interest in the player.
According to the Liverpool Echo, a clause in his contract means he can leave for around £13.5million.

The 26-year-old’s future has been on hold due to his duties with Switzerland at the World Cup.
If Liverpool were to make a move for the Stoke City player he would certainly add depth to Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options at a reasonable price.
The Reds will now make a decision in the coming days whether to act on their interest and conduct a deal.
Despite speculation that an agreement was already in place, the Reds have yet to formally open talks, James Pearce claims.
Following relegation to the Championship with Stoke City last season, the Swiss international is keen to remain in English football’s top-flight
“At the moment, I can’t say anything. You are going to hear soon on my future,” Shaqiri said.
“I was not thinking about this because I was just focused on my national team and wanted to make a good tournament for my team and my nation. It’s pretty normal to be aware of clubs being interested.
“I don’t know, it’s not dependant on me sometimes. Of course, I would like to play on the biggest stage in football. Everybody knows that.”
