World Cup 2018: Round of 16 Day Four and How to Watch Colombia vs. England
England take on Colombia in the final day of Round of 16 action at the World Cup.
WORLD CUP 2018 | ROUND OF 16
Sweden vs. Switzerland | 3PM BST/10AM EST
Colombia vs. England | 7PM BST/2PM EST
The final day of Round of 16 action brings us Jordan Henderson and England, having put in a largely disinterested performance against Belgium with an eye towards finishing runners-up in their group and getting into what appears to be the easier side of the knockout round bracket, taking on Colombia. Who are a more difficult Round of 16 opponent. But if England can get past them, there is clear a path all the way to the final. Or at least that’s the theory. Now, we wait to see how it plays out. And if England will be seeing such a path, so too will Colombia, who have over-performed both pre-tournament expectations so far and xG at both ends of the pitch.
Before that, though, Sweden and Switzerland kick off the day, with the upstart Swedes—having beaten Italy to get here and handled Mexico easily in the group stage to finish first in their group—including shock failures Germany—taking on a Swiss side that finished strong runners-up to Brazil in theirs. As far as big name draws go, it’s not the flashiest of pairings, but it is one with promise, and the winner here will take on the winner of Colombia vs. England in the next round.
