Crystal Palace Will Not Sign Danny Ings or Divock Origi
Palace are reportedly done with incomings for the day, ruling out a move for either Liverpool striker.
Things can move quickly on deadline day. Just a few hours ago, it was widely reported that Crystal Palace were looking to make a £18 million permanent deal for Divock Origi. Those reports were either completely fabricated, or Roy Hodgson found a new solution. Either way, with the season-long loan for Jordan Ayew nearly complete, Palace appear to be out of the market for a new striker.
David Ornstein of the BBC is reporting this morning that Palace do not expect any additional incomings, which seems to rule out moves for either Origi or Danny Ings. For Ings, it means that Southampton now appear to be frontrunners to secure his signature. For Origi, it probably means an overseas move is the likeliest option.
Ings remains the more pressing matter, considering the Englishman’s options are probably limited on the continent. However, his options in England appear to be fading as well as the transfer window winds down.
