Ings set for Deadline Day exit

Danny Ings is expected to leave Liverpool before the Premier League transfer window shuts at 17.00 on Thursday, according to David Lynch of the Evening Standard.

Crystal Palace and Southampton are going head-to-head for the striker, and the Reds are confident they can offload him for a fee in the region of £20million.

The Englishman returned to the fold last season after an injury nightmare and was initially a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the 2018/19 campaign.

However, he expressed a desire to leave the club in search of first-team football and the manager reluctantly agreed to sanction his departure.

Ings played the second half of Liverpool’s final pre-season game against Torino on Tuesday evening, but it is only a matter of time before he seals a move elsewhere.

Lynch adds that Simon Mignolet, Pedro Chirivella, Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi have also been put up for sale, but are more likely to join a European outfit later this month.
